Josie FLores-CLark currently holds the esteemed positions of President at both the National Latina Business Women Association San Diego and the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to serving the community in various capacities. Josie has been an Executive Board Member for organizations like MABPA and the Brindis Committee of MANA, while also contributing to initiatives such as the Gala Committee of the Chicano Federation and Human Trafficking Bilateral Safety. Additionally, she has volunteered with Stand Down and in efforts to feed the homeless.
Moreover, Josie’s professional journey includes roles as the Executive Assistant to the Mayor of National City and the former Executive Assistant to the Director of the National City Housing Authority, where she assisted in facilitating housing opportunities for low-income families. As the owner of USA Consulting, she has brought about significant positive change, including a notable 40% growth in revenue and enhanced diversity within a large private sector company where she served as COO.
Josie has been deeply committed to community welfare, particularly focusing on the well-being of seniors, children, and families. One of her proudest achievements is the initiation of a financial literacy program in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate. These efforts have garnered recognition from various esteemed entities, including the Office of the Governor, Congressman, Senator, Naval Base San Diego, Department of the Army, Consulate General of Mexico, Assemblymembers, and Mayors throughout the Cities respectively.
In the past few years alone, Josie has been featured in prestigious publications such as The Face of San Diego, Celebrano Latinas, Latinas Con Poder, and North County Informador, while also receiving accolades such as the SDBJ Top 50 Latino Leaders of Influence, 2023 East County Regional Chamber of Commerce Women in Leadership, SDBJ 500 Most Influential, National City Chamber of Commerce City Staff recognition, and the Women of Influence 50 over 50 2024.
Born in Calexico, Josie grew up working in the fields alongside her parents and siblings. Being homeless provided her with the understanding of the value that hard work and determination have in achieving one’s life goals.
