Jennifer Zuñiga has always had a passion for empowering people. With the leadership skills she developed at a young age through playing soccer since the age of five, she now channels that experience into inspiring and guiding others to reach their full potential. Her dedication to teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth continues to drive her mission to make a positive impact in the lives of those around her.
With 10 years of experience working for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), Jennifer Zuñiga has leveraged her soft skills and her business degree in Organizational Management to create meaningful change. As a Lead Transportation Security Officer, Jennifer took on the role of Chairwoman of the Employee Advisory Council. Serving as a liaison between a workforce of over 700 employees and senior management, she facilitated communication by addressing officer concerns, presenting innovative ideas, and proposing actionable solutions to enhance the workforce environment and operations. As a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO), she then successfully implemented a Peer Support Team designed to assist her colleague’s experiencing crisis, stress, and personal challenges by providing tools for stress management and emotional resilience, fostering a supportive and healthier work environment. Next, in her role as a Communication Specialist, Jennifer oversaw the Media Department where she led the production of engaging videos and posts to support organizational initiatives and enhance communication strategies. Under her leadership, TSA SAN achieved the distinction of ranking number one on the TSA News App among 72 airports, showcasing her ability to drive engagement and excellence in communication initiatives.
Prior to her career in the security field, Jennifer utilized her associates degree in Liberal Arts with the Emphasis in Social and Behavioral Sciences to mentor and support at-risk youth at San Diego Job Corps as a Residential Advisor. There, she taught essential life skills such as interview techniques, budgeting, independent living skills, stress management, and other tools to help them build successful and self-sufficient futures.
Jennifer’s commitment to helping others extends beyond her professional career. She actively supports her community as a dedication Community Chaplain and facilitates a step study with Celebrate Recovery. Through this Christ-based twelve-step program, she empowers women to heal from their hurt, habits, and hang-ups, guiding them toward a life of restoration and renewed purpose.
